The specs remain as reported before. Total output is 111 kW (150 hp / 152 PS) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque with a 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of 9 seconds and a top speed of 161 km/h (99 mph).
The Opel Ampera will have a range of between 40 and 80 km (25 to 50 miles) running solely on electric power. That range gets extended to 500 km (310 miles) by means of a 1.4 liter gasoline/petrol engine which kicks in when needed to power both the electric motor directly or recharge the 16 kWh lithium-ion battery.
For the different kinds of routes, the Ampera will come with 4 drive modes - Normal, Sport, Mountain and City.
Opel has set a uniform price for the plug-in hybrid for all European markets. That's aprice tag of €42,900 which in Germany, Opel's domestic market, gets knocked down to 36,050 thanks to government tax credits.
The German automaker has reported more than 1,000 pre-orders have already come in for the Ampera model.
The Opel Ampera goes on sale in Europe in June.
